Hello!

My name is María Rivera and I’m so happy you are here.

My artistic goal is to make sure you know that I SEE YOU and the beauty you carry within. I am committed to creating safe spaces for all of us to breath deeper, share love and enjoy this life we are co-creating.

I pursue freedom, integrity, and expansion. Slowing down, practicing balance and finding new perspectives are my way to art.

At the end of the day, I just want everyone to feel the freedom to be their true selves and have fun!

Would you like some background story?

I was born in Guatemala in 1992 , a place that raised me with warmth, a deep appreciation for family, community and color. Holding a deep love for children and education I became an elementary teacher at the age of nineteen.

At twenty-one, I packed my bags and left home to join a non-profit in Virginia. Through that work, I lived in Jordan, Mexico, and India, supporting schools for refugees and families with limited resources. Those years reshaped me. They opened my eyes, my heart, and my understanding of what love, beauty, and wellness can be.

My son arrived in 2017, in Richmond, VA, the beginning of a new chapter. He became my muse, the reason I picked up a camera and fell in love with photography. I built and managed a thriving wedding photography business, organizing styled weddings and hosting photography workshops. Until a move to Chicago in 2020 asked me to begin again, this time shifting my focus toward families and small intimate events. Beginning from zero has been humbling, slowly rebuilding and finding our own rhythm.

Every moment in life holds an invitation to open up our  hearts  more fully.
